Outing with Jerilee

Met Jerilee today to catch up with each other since it's been sometime since I spoke to her in depth. While waiting at the cinema tix counter of Plaza Singapura for her, I saw this...

WOAH! More like Chicken King Kong than Chicken "Little" I'd say!

When Jerilee came, we went to Secret Recipe for lunch.

I ordered a Carribean Seabass and she ordered a Beef Lasagne. We were about to order our drinks when Jerilee spotted this on the menu:

Kiddicino & Babycino... look at the price. Amazing.. drink & pay according to your age! Lol...Anyway food was not bad plus I had staff discount.. so all works out well! Hehe..

Well, after the meal we wanted to head down to Lido, Isetan Scotts as Golden Village at Plaza Singapura's showtimes weren't favourable to us for the show we wanted to watch. While leaving Plaza Sing, we heard a lot of singing and alot of kids shouting happily...curiosity got us:

Ohhhhhh.... no wonder... Looney Tunes show for kids..

Anyway, we took the train to Orchard while walking to the train station..we saw adorable star shaped Christmasy cakes/bread (?)

Cute!

Arrived at Lido Cinemas to purchase the tix. Prime was the movie flick we caught and surprisingly ...both of us liked the show alot. It's not like an over-hyped mega blockbustor but yet it was good. It was a combination of romance, had touches of comedy & yet it was realistic. Meryl Streep is indeed a good actress. A few liners in the movie made an impact on Jerilee and I.
For her it was the line "You love, you learn and you moved on..." For me it was the line that went "The fact that you're willing already goes to show how much you loved me.." Touching. Worth my $9.50 in my opinion.

After the movie, we went to Far East Plaza to walk around.. and we came across a few shops that had alot of cutesy stuff that were hilarious... we decided to take some pics in one of the shops called Lemon Tee since they had so many colourful stuff (Don't ask me what are they..other than the belts I can see from the pic.. I didn't pay attention to them...)

Took a pic of Jerilee in that shop and the colourful items served to be a good backdrop ... and I told her that the pic looks as though she is in some 'chatuchat' market in Thailand or something.. very vacation like. Lol..

She took a pic of me... I spotted this 'dung' looking item .. it was queer. I have no idea what is its purpose but it had eyes and a mouth printed or painted on it..

Prisca says: "Smerrrryyyyyy" Lol...

After that we headed home.. it's good to walk back from Far East Plaza... I always enjoy walking ... its an excuse to my brain that I am utilising my legs more.. lol..
On my way home I saw this tree that I have ALWAYS wanted to snap a pic of it.. and so .. today I shall..

Don't ask me why I've always wanted to take a picture of this ordinary looking tree... I guess I just think that its nice.. especially when every morning when I walked to MRT to head to work..I will pass by this tree and glance at how nice it is.. and same goes for on my way home from work as well. I guess the way its branches are structured just captivates me..

Lien's Farewell Dinner

Hui Boon & I have been cracking our heads since November on what to get for Lien when she returns to Melbourne for good on 6th December 2005. How time flies! It seems like it was only yesterday that she arrived and we got acquainted. Anyway, Hui Boon & I decided to get her something to remember us. And what better ways to remember us by giving her pics of our faces! Lol...

So we bought the frame as I mentioned in my earlier blog entry below. And both of us have been secretly hiding in one of the unused office rooms to decorate the gift during lunch hours so that we can present this to her on Friday. Still working on it but here's a glimpse at the work that is yet to be completed (Cos one missing photo at the bottom right corner haha):
Nice right? :P

We took a picture while working on the frame for fun... heheh

Hui Boon (a.k.a as HB or Ah-Boon), Me, Claire (my timtam slam demonstrator as per previous blog entry below.. haha)

After work, Angie, Joel, HB and I had to head down to Brewerkz first before the others as we wanna avoid letting Lien know about the present.

So here we are and while waiting for the rest & our finger food to arrive... we played with the camera again.. hehehe..what's new right? lol.

Angie & Joel

Me & HB

Joel was trying to take a picture of us and we got tired of waiting.. this is really a candid shot believe it or not.. lol..

When the rest arrived together with Lien.. we presented the present to her (while dining table still clean.. hahah)

Lien looking at what we all wrote in the photo frame for her..

Sigh... Lien.. Am really going to miss you very much when you return to Melbourne. Hopefully our paths will cross again.. I'll definitely look you up if I am ever in Melbourne! Just wanna say a big THANK YOU for guiding me! *Mmmmuaks! Big Hugzz*

Bits & Pieces

Okie, I have not been on a blogging frenzy or blogging regularly as I would like to cos I have been busy. But in a single blog entry tonight, I will blog about my days from last Sunday until today, Thursday. Heheeh..

Last Sunday we celebrated Andrew's birthday at Mushroom Pot which is located at OG Orchard Point. The food was good and I like the soup very much. Afterwhich some of us went to do research on our vacation plans to Japan. Oh yah..forgot to mention, that I got to know a new friend -Adeline and she is a cute gal. Here's some pics:

Birthday Boy

Adeline & I @Isetan Scotts, Mos Burger

The pics for last Sunday are courtesy of Merv..this is the owner of the camera

Me la..who else..

After researching, Gab, CS, Adeline & I went to watch the movie Harry Potter. It's not bad actually. I like it. Think Severus Snape the character is getting more interesting as portrayed in the movie.. in my opinon at least.
And that was my Sunday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday: Busy with work.
Tuesday: Busy with work and also running errands.
Fast right? haha...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday: After work, Noelle accompanied me to Plaza Singapura to shop for a nice photo frame that can contain a few pictures of us so that we can present it to Lien who is returning to Melbourne early next week. Wanted her to remember all of us... so we walked around scouting for a nice photoframe and found one in the shop Molecue. They have very nice clocks as well as photoframes. But they were quite steep but unique. Ranges from $40ish to $80ish for photoframes. We bought a nice frame and was satisfied that 'mission accomplished'.

Then it happened. Temptation hit me hard. I asked Noelle if we can check something out. I went there and temptation was SoOooo hard to resist, I caved in. Sigh.. too bad I do not have an iron will when it comes to such. But I was jubilant. In fact I am still jubilant. hehehe.... some of you may already have known what made me happy. Hehe.. Don't say out okie!! Hahaha.. Anyway, that was my mid-week. It will never be the same again. hehe.. for me at least and don't let your thoughts run too far.. it's really nothing much. But to me it is something much though...

Thursday: Today you guys shall learn about 'How to Score a Tim Tam Slam'.

As I explained, my cutest and lovely assistant Claire will deomonstrate to you how to score a tim tam slam... Please pay attention. Hehehe..
Step 1: Buy a pack of Arnott's Tim Tams (Duhh!! Then it won't be called Tim Tam Slam if you don't!). For some of you who have not been introduced to this divine product AT ALL....WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING ALL YOUR LIFE! hehehe... just kiddin. Here's a pic of a pack of Tim Tams just in case.

It is best eaten if the Tim Tams are dark chocolate flavours but you can make do with Original flavour of Tim Tams as dark chocolate ones usually fly off the shelves pretty quickly.

Step 2: Like Claire, pick your TimTam up & get ready

Step 3: Bite off a tinnnnny weeeee bit off the corner of the TimTam 1st.

And it will look like this (See bottom left corner of the TimTam)

Step 4: Bite off another tinnnny weeee bit off the other diagonal end of the TimTam as what Claire is doing.

As you can probably see... both the diagonal corners of the TimTam has been bitten off. (As you can see too.. Claire is enjoying this demonstration).

Step 5: Get ready a nice hot/warm cuppa of Milo, Coffee, Lipton Tea with Milk..hot chocolate...whatever your preference but we settled for Milo this round.

Step 6: Dunk your TimTam into the cuppa (Btw, Claire.. I think you looked cute in this pic!)

Step 7: From one of the bitten ends of the Timtam, start sucking it as though the timtam is a straw when its dunked into the cuppa. See Claire's demonstration below:

Suck the Timtam until you can drink the milo and the timtam starts to melt from the heat of the drink going through the timtam..see below.

Step 8: Quickly pop the semi melted timtam in ur mouth because the biscuit in it has sortof melted and may break easily.

And...Voila!! you'll get this result:

Claire says "Mmmm... Thumbs Up!"
Daniel..another happy Timtam slammer

P U R E * S A T I S F A C T I O N* Go try it!! It's worth it and it's fun!! Lol...

Later on in the afternoon... Ms. Corporate Power Dressing (haha.. but U do look great in ur dressing, babe!) - Karine walked passed my desk and passed me some nice gifts.. awwwww... she spoils us... See the gifts! So sweet of her!! This girl is always thinking of others and always shares her food whenever she buys anything! I tell u she is extinct not cos she shares her food la.. but she thinks of others first and shares her happiness.... :)

And as I was catching up with Karine, I glanced at my desk and I realised that I have more toys, pics, stuff on my desk now then before...

Oh well..... I'll clear up my stuff when I have the time.. cos now so busy cos have to cover Sandi while she enjoys her vacation down under....So there you go... hope you'll enjoy ur coming weekend and now u know whats a timtam slam!!!!

Because of You

Because of You
I could walk on forever just knowing You are near..
No matter the distance, no matter how far
Because of You, I could walk on forever..
I would persevere.

Somedays the journey includes rain
and somedays it may even include pain
No one said the journey would be easy
Time and again You assured me..
That I won't journey in vain

Many a times I refuse to continue
Many a times I refuse to even budge
I block You out completely...
To continue on...sometimes just simply is too hard

You listened and You didn't bore any grudge
You told me that not everyday is of rainbows & butterflies
You told me no matter the season..
No matter the tide
I'll always have You by my side.

Because of You, I could walk on forever..
With You by my side..
I will continue my stride...

Sweet Monday

Sweet Monday:

Went to work as per normal and was checking my personal emails before official working hours start and I saw a Friendster request from "Han" and I was wondering.. who is Han? Hans solo? Logged onto Friendster and as it was loading slowly, I was sipping my morning cuppa lipton tea and then when I checked back.. I saw that it was from someone that I had lost touch with. It was from an Indonesian friend, Adrian whom after some incidents with my ex, we lost touch completely. I was surprised that he had asked me to add him on Friendster after all this while. Yet, I was also happy that he didn't forget about me. You could say its a long-lost friend found. I was also happy seeing Adrian looking happy & well from his friendster pics after all this while. This year is really a year for long lost pals.. and I am grateful & thankful to the Lord for making this happen...really.

Sweet Karine:
Was talking to Karine today and half way through our conversation... Joel passed me something. ?? Wondered how come got internal routing package to me. Opened it and there it was:

A cute lil teddy bear that you can tie to to your hp or anyway you fancy and a cheery looking thank you card which Karine made. I was touched. Why? Cos a few days ago... out of no where.. I text one of my best guy friends Brian and told him that I dun know why I suddenly feel like having a very very soft teddy bear plushie and it doesn't matter if its very very small. I wasn't hinting to Brian to get me one but since he is one of those guys that I would confide almost anything in.. He asked me why and I myself could not explain.. just a sudden urge. And here I am with a very soft and cute teddy bear from Karine. I didn't even tell Karine! Sooo... babe... thanks for your sweet gift and like what I told you.. whatever it is... you'll always have my support.. my shoulder to lean on and my ears to listen to you.. I'll be praying for your happiness.

Latest PriPri:

For a friend who text me today and said have not seen me for a long time.. and my blog doesn't have much of my pics... here's a recent pic (fresh from the oven okie.. I took this just TODAY) just for you... Not that great a pic since its taken from my mobile... anyway thats it for me... gota do some other work already.. It's been a sweet and blissful Monday... and I guess I needed this.

Happy Birthday to you.. after all these years..

Happy birthday to you my special friend. After all these years, I have never wished you a proper happy birthday but this year I will. Perhaps its too late.. but all I can say is I'm sorry. You'll always be my special friend.. close to my heart.

Enjoyable Saturday

1st Part of my enjoyable Saturday:
Went blading in the morning with YTS, KKPS and Adrian. Before blading.. YTS & I were hungry so after picking up KKPS, we met Adrian @Kebab Station and I had a Lamb Kebab Pita Roll... Tasty! Couldn't finish so I shared some of it with Adrian. Afterwhich we went blading and then we rested and was introduced to Adrian's friend, Michael. He said my blades and guards look new and end up? He took my guards and wore them. Before I know whats going on... he went blading at the learner's area with my guards & deliberately fell down a couple of times..... -.- with my guards on to my horror. How my poor heart aches (not for him can!! Michael can blade very well) when my guards frictioned against the floor before my very eyes. While he was doing that a couple of times.. I was wailing at the top of my lungs that I barely know him for half an hour and this was what I got!! Of cause, Adrian, YTS & KKPS were laughing while I wailed. And to think these people are my friends? Horrible people you guys are! Hehehe..lol..

Anyway, after that Michael checked the wheels on my blades and switched the position of my wheels so that they will be evenly used and will not wear out so easily (most likely out of guilt seeing how much I wailed my poor heart out..lol..hehe).. and he gave me a pair of "Alan keys" (?) for wheels maintenance in future. Thanks, mate! (Though no thanks for the special treatment on my guards..eventhough the learning area was smooth ground OKIE!! hehe).
======================================================================================

2nd Part of my enjoyable Saturday:

After blading, YTS sent KKPS to her place and we headed to somewhere Mohd. Sultan area for lunch. I was craving for the Croc Monsieur that was introduced to me last time by Liz. So we made our way there and ordered 1 and shared as we weren't very hungry. MmMmm... satisfaction derived! Here's a pic of how the Croc Monsieur looks like below. It is basically melted, yet fluffy cheese on top of bread with juicy slices of ham and tomatoes sandiwch, sprinkled with some herb as you can see the green bits. Verrrrryyy Niceeee! I think the restaurant's name is Epicurious.

When we were done with lunch... we saw this colourful bridge. It looks bright & cheery so I snapped it.. lol..

More bright and cheery stuff.. this is taken from Gallary Hotel. Uniquely designed colourful windows for a hotel. Funky.

==========================================================================================

3rd Part of my enjoyable Saturday:

YTS fetched me to Junming's place and after numerous U-turns (we were really trying our luck and my memory on where his place is located), decided to call him instead. Lol. Found out we were at Bukit Batok West and his place is at Bukit Batok East. YTS probably had the best U-turn practice today .... bet he didn't did so many U-turns in a single day. hehe.

Anyway... finally got there and Gabriel was already there playing the guitar and we watched some movies and had dinner with Elaine, Yixing (?) and Junming's mum. Thanks for your hospitality, Junming! Gabriel, thanks for your chips.. though I NEVER EAT.. haha... kiddin.. it was me who didn't wanna eat .. cos not much appetite. Got to watch the show where Andy Lau played a little boy who grew up too fast over a span of a couple of nights. Something that I had wanted to watch so much after watching the clips of it on buses whenever I travelled back home from school after lessons. Did so many things today... post exam feelings are absolutely bliss. (Think nearer results date on Dec 6 I will be in panic shambles again.. lol)

Riverwalk, Vanilla Sky & Herbal Black Bat Soup

Riverwalk

Went to Riverwalk apartment to recce the place for the coming Christmas party so that the Christmas Comittee (which includes me obviously) can plan the activities better. The place is located just next to Boat Quay and had an incredible view of the Central Business District Area of Shenton Way as well as the Singapore River. Check it out...(its small & not so clear cos zoomed and taken from my mobile phone)

Think the view at night will be spectacular especially during Christmas with all the lighting and decorations.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Vanilla Sky

After Riverwalk, I went over to Kirsten's as agreed and after her bath, we headed to Bugis to do a little shopping for her as she wanna get some skirts. We had to head back to her place after shopping as we are meeting Sandy, Kim and Peikey to cook for dinner tonight. While driving back to her place from Bugis.. (Kirsten.. its so nice that you can drive now.. heehee..cos we can go even more places when Aunty Alice leaves you the car.. & I am still waiting for our durian feast in Geylang can!! We really oughtta do that soon before ur return to Taz, PLSSSSSSSSSSS...ur lazy friend here has got durian withdrawal symptoms for a few lightyears already)

Anyway ... while driving back.. I noticed that the sky was in a lovely hue and with the way the clouds were scattered over the evening sky.. it was a fine view. Not sure if you can see clearly from the tiny pic below.. but if you can't .. sorry but me no digi cam and i've tried my bestest to capture the sight with a mobile cam (with Kirsten slowing down her driving..so sweet of her!) mind you.

Quote from the movie Vanilla Sky "Forget everything you know about life, and just open your eyes..."

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Herbal Black Bat Soup

Reached Kirsten's and while waiting for the rest of the ladies to arrive (also waiting for them to buy the herbs necessary to boil with the soup), Kirsten and I decided to prepare the food first. Kirsten took out the black chicken from the fridge and showed me... we chuckled as we saw the black chicken's state. The chicken looked as though a tank just ran over it and it was as flat as a compact camera. Don't believe me? See for yourself..

Told ya its flat, didn't I? This is what I call a palmtop chicken.. hahaha..Though the shot wasn't taken well, this is the ENTIRE chicken for your information. I told Kirsten and Sandy that I suspect its a bat not a black chicken and they laughed. When dinner was ready, I didn't touch the chicken except the soup which was really tasty ... and Sandy teased me saying that its not a bat but a black chicken and that its safe to eat the chicken...lol..As much as I love my meats.. I decided to pass..

I didn't snap the rest of the dishes we (or more like Kirsten who cooked them all) ate, but we had brown rice that night and it tasted much better than I expected and I like the texture of the rice.. gonna persuade my mum to switch to brown rice going forward when she cooks.

A Closed Chapter.. A New Chapter Awaits...

A Closed Chapter.. A New Chapter Awaits...
Relief and free.. are the words right now that I can describe my current state. At 4:30pm today, after my last exam paper..... I felt relief and free.. A big stone lifted off my chest today. This is it. The last of the examination paper and I have come to the end of this education tunnel. A closed chapter (for now at least till I get my results in December..lol) This feeling is sensational...never felt this free for so long. I guess when the entire education course is paid out of your own pockets...and when you've come to the end of the course.. perhaps one can call it accomplishing a milestone. Till my results are out.. if I do pass and graduate.. this is one life goal I have come to achieve. And I need to thank God, my family, my churchmates, my colleagues, my friends, my boss & manager....everyone who have been so supportive in one way or another in helping me to accomplish this life goal. (sounds like the emmy's? haha) Lurve you guys!!!!!! *Big Hugz*

Looking back, I never thought that I would be able to attain a degree in my lifetime cos it was too costly. As much as I wanted it badly.. I could only dream and hope for a miracle. To many people obtaining a degree was as simple as ABC with their parents paying the bill. No offense.. that's almost a natural thing parents do for their kids. I won't say I am unlucky..but I just took a harder route. This harder route made me appreciate my degree even more. It did happen of cos..the Lord made it possible eventhough I had to fork it out of my own pockets. But the promotion I had earlier this year.. helped me big time in financing my studies. I'm grateful. Having a life goal achieved is really no easy feat and I am not giving myself credit here. I am giving it all to Him. I know I could never have done so if it weren't for Him leading me at every step till today..imagine..the last of my examination paper as compared to when 1.5years ago I was worrying my heart out if I could even obtain a degree given my financial status.

Another life goal that was achieved was traveling to Europe. Dreaming about it and talking about it were easy... saving up to go there while financing my studies was not. As I look back at the photos in my notebook..a wonderful warm feeling overcomes me. 2 life goals achieved in this 1.5years. Lord, I am very grateful to how You made all things possible in my life. In this 1.5 years, I made many new friends.. I have a wonderful church I can call my spiritual home, I have brilliant churchmates and have come to know a group of my coursemates that are now so dear to me..and also friends like Joan, Imelda, Donald kor, Tat Wang, Phyllis, Linda, Alex, Karine, Khanh.. All I can say is I'm truly blessed.

A new chapter awaits...what is the new chapter? I have no idea.. it depends.. have so many things on my mind that I would like to do now that time is once more on my side. Learn french? Learn driving? No idea.. will take things as it goes.. perhaps next year.. right now what I really want.. is to dwell in His presence and just bask in it. Anyway, right after my exams today... guess who I met?
I met my favourite interactive "toy" (without batteries)...check him out..

Isn't Tze Kang adorable?? He is sOoOoo chubby & cute and look at those pair of eyes! So handsome!! He is the proud product of my coursemate now dear friend, Serene and her husband Dan.

And after that I met KKPS for dinner at Mos Burger Taka and we hung out and chat till the cows came home. Then we went walking around a bit more and settled for dessert at this famous in Hong Kong mango pudding place call "Xu Liu Shan" in mandarin, behind Isetan Scotts and this was what I ordered:

Nice ain't it? Its called Mango Pudding with real mangos and Coconut Ice Cream covered with Mango Puree....*droolz* But the thing that topped the dessert and made it sweeter was becos KKPS was with me. And its truly the companions that makes a difference in your day, your meal, your outing.. That's all folks.. its blading day tomorrow for moi~ Adios, Amigos!
